I produced a short series of creative audio pieces for this health foundation's benefit event called The Greatest Evening. It was a fantastic brief, with lots of flexibility to get creative with sound design and composition, and the opportunity to create something that was site specific (to the Western Hospital in Melbourne).
The pieces were played loudly over the PA system at a black tie cocktail event and I was amazed to see this couple of hundred people standing with drinks in hand, quietly listening to my work. I was fairly certain they wouldn't stop and listen. So... I went home feeling very chuffed after the event. And they let me bring my mum, which was cool (though I guess quite uncool).
Here's one of the pieces, which features sound recorded organically around the hospital and manipulated to become a composition working to build a foundation for the compelling story. I'm particularly proud of the elevator arrival beeps I sampled and turned into a synthesizer.
